Crohn’s, colitis and the GP: a pilot survey for GPs

HYPOTHESIS: That improving the knowledge and confidence of rural and metropolitan local medical practitioners in the management of IBD will improve patient welfare, increase patient confidence in community and regional medical services and reduce the need and use of hospital services.

AIMS:

  1. Enhance IBD patient access to, and confidence in, community medical services
  2. Improve the management of IBD within the community by increasing GP knowledge and confidence in the management of the IBD patient
  3. Reduce use and need of Hospital services by the IBD patient.
